Want some added comfort for your flight? Follow my tips. It’s always so exciting when the day of travel arrives and all you can think about is the new places you’re going to see and all the things that you’re going to get to do. The only problem is that to get there, you may be facing one long flight! That flight usually entails a big limitation on your personal space, legs that may soon begin to feel like rubber if they get any more cramped, and if you’re really unlucky, flight staff that just don’t seem to be enjoying their jobs or wanting to make you feel as comfortable as possible. In my many years of travel, I’ve learned a few simple things that always make me feel better. Since there may be a shortage of blankets and pillows (or none at all as the case may be) I always like to carry my own. I’ve got my handy dandy travel pillow that wraps around my neck, and a small fleece blanket that always makes me feel cozy. Let’s face it, your neck is bound to get uncomfortable, and those little pillows that are provided by your airline really just don’t do the trick. You can pick up your own travel pillow at a variety of different places or at just about any airport you go into. Their blankets? Same deal…not a lot of it and not all that much warmth. Being on an airline means that the temperature is going to vary greatly and sometimes it is just really, really cold and if you’re like me, I can’t stand to be cold! So I bring my own blanket. It also makes me feel like the little space that I have, all belongs to me! It may be a silly thing but to me, means a lot. Easiest way to avoid taking up your carry on allowance with these extra things? Attach it to the outside of your carry on! Try one of these on your next flight! Here’s another one….food. Sometimes when you get on the plane you are just starving! Well depending on your airline, you may or may not get food! Sometimes there’s food to purchase, sometimes (depending on your time of travel) there’s just a mini snack, and by mini, I mean Mini! Or other times they’re going to feed you but you’re on such a big flight, that it might take a couple of hours before you’re getting anything. I’m pretty sure that you know what I’m about to say! Yep, you’re right…if you’re worried you might not get satisfied, bring some food that you know is going to do the trick for you! Just put it in your carry on and you’re good to go! So the flight’s going good, you’re enjoying it for the most part…but you’re legs feel like they are going numb! It’s really important that you keep the blood flowing. As you know, there are some not good things that can happen to you when you don’t do this, such as blood clots. To avoid this, move your legs and toes as much as you can. If you don’t want to get up, stretch out one at a time as much as you can, wiggle your toes, rotate your ankles…whatever you can do to keep that blood flow moving! Stand up and take a walk, depending on the size of your plane, there are viewing windows that can be found at the back and middle of the plane, maybe you’ll even meet a few of your fellow passengers! Try these out for size on your net long haul! These are just a few things that I’ve learned to make me feel better while on route and hopefully this will help you as well!
